About me

Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog. I’m Kaitlyn Cheatheam. My love of cooking and baking started when I was really young, roughly the age of 12. At the age of 16 I started a home based baking business, baking for friends, family, and local businesses. I have tried a few different career paths in my life so far but cooking is my true passion, and I hope to one day create recipes full time.

Why am I health conscious? At the age of 21 I was diagnosed with numerous health and digestive issues. After diagnosed I tried many medications to help with my digestive issues and nothing really helped. I was in discomfort all the time but especially when I ate… so I began to fear food and ultimately hate it. My life started to revolve around my health, it was a constant balancing act of diet, fitness, keeping a low stress level, and adequate sleep/rest in order to keep me feeling well.

In September of 2014 I made the life changing decision to eat a Vegan diet to see if it would help. I’m happy to say it did! Going vegan has not deprived my life of “normalcy” but instead enriched it. Not only has it inspired me to get creative with cooking and baking, it has also made it possible for me to love food, and become healthy again.

I am always learning new things about cooking/baking and enjoy sharing what I learn. I live by the quote “Once you stop learning, you start dying” ~ Albert Einstein. I haven’t had any formal training or classes on how to cook or bake, I learn most when left alone in my kitchen, my kitchen is where I feel like my true self.

I hope you enjoy my recipes!
