This recipe is a healthier alternative to get your brownie craving fix, opposed to eating brownies loaded with tons of refined sugar, dairy and gluten. While these may be “healthier” then the traditional brownie they are just as tasty.

Ingredients:
3/4 Cup Gluten-free All Purpose Baking Flour
1/2 Cup Almond Meal
3/4 Cup Special Dark Cocoa Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Xanthan Gum
1/2 Teaspoon Pink Himalayan Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Cup Almond Butter
3/4 Cup Pure Maple Syrup
1/4 Cup Coconut Oil
3 Flax Eggs (3 Tbsp Flax seed meal + 9 Tbsp Water, let sit 10 minutes or until thickened)
2 Teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F
Lightly oil 7″X11″ baking dish or 8″ square baking pan with coconut oil, set aside.
In a small mixing bowl, combine GF baking flour, almond meal, cocoa powder, xanthan gum, salt, and baking powder, stir well, set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to combine almond butter and maple syrup, mix well, then add in coconut oil, flax eggs, and vanilla, mix well. Add in flour/cocoa mixture, mix on low until combined.
Spread batter into prepared baking dish.
Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when poked into center.
Cool, slice, and serve.
Makes: 6-8 brownies Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 25-30 minutes
